We have disagreements on most things, from where to travel to next to what to watch on the telly, but it was while we were doing a few small laps in the pool inside the Pestana Chelsea Bridge hotel that my boyfriend and I agreed on one thing: we wanted to visit as many quirky and awesome hotels as we could.

While we’ve stayed in our fair share of funky hotels over the last few years, we’re always on the look out for more. That’s why, when I was introduced to Chic Retreats I was almost jumping for joy. It’s a one-stop site for boutique hotels, luxury stays and romantic hideaways for accommodation all over the world – and it’s definitely not helping my itchy feet. Rather than generic characterless hotel rooms, you can browse a whole selection of charming accommodations bursting with personality. Since browsing the site I’ve added a whole range of destinations to my bucket list, so peruse at your peril!

Here are some of my favourite hotel rooms from the site.

Riad AnaYela, Marrakechmorocoo

I mean seriously, how beautiful can one place be?

Marrakesh is a place high up on my bucket list, and the Riad AnaYela encompasses everything I want in a hotel when I’m there: traditional features, hundreds of years of history and a dose of luxury all thrown into one place. Take me there now.

Amori Villa, Bali

asiaIf money were no object, this is definitely the kind of place I would stay in Bali. Small in size, the Amori Villa welcomes guests for a rural relax, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. From the edge of the infinity pool, guests can look on over long stretches of luscious greenery, and can even enjoy spa treatments.

Dreams Luxury Suites, Santorini

santoriniSantorini is another of the places that I would jet off to tomorrow if I could – but I’m putting it on hold for the moment until I can afford a place as spectacular as this, with white-washed walls and sultry views across the Aegean Sea. It doesn’t get much better does it?

Hotel Bellevue Wiesen, Switzerland

switzerlandIf you’re going to Switzerland, you’ve got to stay somewhere like this: spectacular views of mountain ranges are married together with cosy armchairs, warm lamps and wood-themed rooms. Although the village of Davos Wiesen where this boutique hotel is located is popular with skiers, you’re probably more likely to find me curled up on that sofa having a jolly good afternoon nap. Bliss.

Houseboat at Tower Bridge, London

londonYou don’t have to be going a million miles away to make use of Chic Retreats either. I’m getting some inspiration for a few staycation ideas, and I’ve got my eye on this gorgeous houseboat in St Katharine Docks. It’s stylish, hip and quirky – and it’s also down the road from my work, hello lie-in.

What do you think of Chic Retreats? Have you spotted any awesome hotels on there?

All photos are from the Chic Retreats website. This post is in collaboration with Chic Retreats. However, all opinions – and obsession with cool hotels – are my own.
