For lots of different reasons, I’m the first to admit I’ve been a little off my blogging A-game this month. After an inspiring day at icelolly.com’s #BlogAtTheBeach event, my focus has been a little all over the place this month thanks to a few personal issues. But now things look like they’re finally getting back on track and it’s only a smidge over 2 months until I return to America! Have I mentioned how excited I am?!

What I’ve Been Doing

Between bouts of Netflix binges (seriously guys, if you haven’t seen Avatar: The Last Airbender – the cartoon, not the film – I’d recommend you get on that now), freelancing and sleeping, I, uh, actually haven’t done that much.

As well as that little trip up to Leeds for icelolly.com’s event, I also stayed at the amazing Qbic London City hotel for the first ever Blogger Slumber Party, which was as amazing as it sounds.

(Don’t believe me? Read all about it here!)

I snuggled up to some tiny kittens at the London Cat Village which is pretty much my favourite place in London now, and I also managed to squeeze in a quick weekend trip to a place that I’ve been meaning to visit for so long – Oxford. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the gorgeous college grounds since I left – I’m very envious of everyone who lives there…

And as for my Bank Holiday? I spent my Sunday with my mum at Quex Park in South East Kent, complete with its own museum, farm shop, cafes and various activities. It’s an absolutely adorable place for a day trip from London with something for the whole family, so I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you!

What I’ve Been Reading

Emma’s post on the best and worst things about being a travel blogger was absolutely on the money. Even as a part-time travel blogger with a full-time job, I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve been asked to work for free, or how many times I’ve cringed while explaining that I’m a blogger…But it’s all worth it, right?!

Nikki’s post about 5 Things to do in Dubrovnik is just ridiculous. I’m not even joking. If I hear any more times about how I’m not in Dubrovnik I might actually cry. BUT SERIOUSLY, Nikki’s wonderful blog post has got me thinking even more about making my Croatian dreams a reality. Maybe in 2016. I’m already planning my 2016 travels. Oh god I need help.

And finally: it’s not travel related, but this makes me smile every time I see it.

Next Month…

I’m starting a new job right at the start of this month, so it’s going to be a bit full-on for a little bit. Luckily I’ve got a backlog of blog posts to bring you in order to inspire your London (and further afield…) travels!

There is pretty much no reason for this picture (from London Cat Village) to be here. I just love this kitten.

I’ll also be going to Blogstock again (read all about last year’s festivities here!) and can’t wait to meet some bloggers I’ve been chatting to online for yeeeaaarss. If you’re going to be there, hit me up!

Let me know in the comments below how your August went, and where your travels in September are taking you!
